Metro tryouts are designed to place players on the appropriate teams based on their skills demonstrated at tryouts. Tryouts are led by our highly experienced Master Coaches who understand that many players trying out in our 8 -14's age category might be new to volleyball and starting as beginners. For that reason, every player 8 -14's is a offered a position on one of our teams. Many of these players are in the early stages of their development and they progress significantly over the course of one Metro season.

Tryouts for the 15's -18's age categories are highly competitive and not every player may make a team. 

After just one season with Metro, players are able to make a dramatic impact on their teams at their respective school programs. 
Our tryouts consist of skill-based drills and team competition. Each individual athlete will be thoroughly evaluated during their tryout. They will be placed (based on their skill level) on an appropriate team to ensure the optimal development of their volleyball skills, technique, and game strategy. 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Tryouts will take place in our 30,000 sq. ft. Sports Academy at 2950 Brother Blvd., Bartlett, TN 38133.
Check-in will take place prior to each tryout (check-in time is listed for each tryout).
During check in, you will receive your tryout number, have your vertical, height etc… measured, and try on your player pack gear. The check-in may take anywhere from 15-45 minutes depending on number of players trying out in the respective age group.

Register early on or before September 25, 2023 for discounted tryout registration.

TRYOUT REGISTRATION PROCESS:

Step One: Register for Memphis Metro tryouts  (create a SportsEngine account via the link below: account needs to be created by the guardian and player needs to be added)

Step Two:  Register with USAV  (use the same email as you used to create the SportsEngine account) (this will not be available until September 5, 2023)

All players attending tryouts MUST to be registered members of USAV. This membership is REQUIRED by USAV for ANY player participating in competitive volleyball tryouts in the USA. The USAV registration is done online and will be done with the SportsEngine account you created for the tryout registration.

REGISTERED MEANS: You have registered for Metro tryouts and registered with USAV. Registration is required prior to the tryout date.

We recommend you register for tryouts before September 20th to save time and money.
